Travelers should not miss the excitement of flying on a Garuda Indonesia plane with Pokemon livery. The plane flew from February to various destinations.

Previously, The Pokemon Company, Garuda Indonesia, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (Kemenparekraf), and the Pokemon GO game development company, Niantic Inc., signed a cooperation agreement at the Kempinski Grand Ballroom, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (30/5/2023) .

Pikachu will fly in the skies of the archipelago starting February 2024. This plane’s first route is Jakarta-Denpasar.

“This is a valuable opportunity for Garuda Indonesia to collaborate with the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy and the Pokémon Company. Through this collaboration program, we are presenting a special Pokémon-themed flight experience by presenting special Pokémon livery on two Garuda Indonesia aircraft,” said Ade R. Susardi, Director of Service Commercial Garuda Indonesia, at the Pikachu Indonesia Journey press conference, Thursday (11/1/2024).

Ade added that the Pokemon Jet on Garuda Indonesia displays 10 types of Pokemon on both fuselages. As a follow-up to this collaborative song, Garuda Indonesia is planned to be launched on February 22 2024 and then the aircraft will be used on flights on the Jakarta-Denpasar route at the end of February.

This flight also coincides with the first Pikachu Indonesia Journey event which will take place March 2-3 2024 in Denpasar. Travelers can enjoy various exciting activities with their family, such as Pokemon GO, Pokemon Run, Pikachu Splash Show, Pikachu EDM, Pokemon Kids Carnival and even meet and greets with Pokemon. Not only Pikachu, travelers can also meet 10 other Pokemon during the event.

Not only serving flights on the Jakarta-Denpasar route, the aircraft with the Pikachu livery is also used to serve flights from Jakarta to other cities, including Yogyakarta, Lombok, Batam, Surabaya, Malang, Semarang, Makassar and other domestic destinations.

“We are also launching various Pokemon merchandise products, there is also a special landing page on the Garuda website which informs about Pikachu livery aircraft flights, Pikachu designs at check-in counters and cabin crew who will welcome passengers holding Pokemon dolls. Later there will also be a Pokemon Kids TV service on in-flight entertainment,” said Ade.

With this collaboration, Garuda Indonesia hopes to provide new experiences for travelers. Not only for domestic flights, but also international.
